Ben Scott is retired from Goodyear, where he worked for 21 years. He is the pastor at the Eastside Church of God in Christ in Topeka, a position he has held since 1978. 

Scott served 11 years on the USD 501 School Board in Topeka and cites education funding as a top priority. Having served on the school board, Scott is familiar with the unique aspects of school finance: “I hope we can work together in the Legislature to provide suitable funding for education for all kids.”

A longtime civil rights activist, president of the Topeka Chapter of the NAACP, and second vice-chair of the Kansas NAACP, Scott feels passionately about voting rights.
