Lawmakers must do their part to stimulate Kansas economy
In these uncertain economic times, House Democrats are working hard to keep our state economy headed in the right direction. Following the lead of Governor Parkinson, our caucus has supported over $1.2 billion in targeted tax relief over the past four years to encourage business investment and job creation and to help families.
House Democrats have led the way in eliminating property taxes on business machinery and equipment, helping small businesses and agricultural producers to invest in new technologies, improving their operations and boosting those manufacturers who produce the equipment. We have also worked to expand the Homestead Property Tax rebate program and eliminated state income taxes on Social Security benefits.
