Geraldine Flaharty, District 98
Biography
Representative Geraldine Flaharty has served the 98th House District since 1995. He represents parts of Wichita, Oaklawn-Sunview, and Riverside.
Throughout her 13 years in the Kansas House, Geraldine has been actively involved in issues relating to health care. She serves as the ranking minority member of the House Health and Human Services Committee, the Economic Development and Tourism Committee, the Joint Committee on Pensions, Investments, and Benefits, as well as the Ranking Minority Member of the Select Committee on KPERS.
Before running for the Kansas Legislature, Geraldine worked 36 years as a public elementary school teacher. She is a member of the Sedgwick County Developmentally Disabled Advisory Board and has also held numerous leadership positions in Derby-National Education Association. Geraldine raised three children and has seven grandchildren.
