Jerry Henry, District 63
Biography
Representative Jerry Henry has served the 63rd House District since 1993. He represents Doniphan and parts of Atchison counties.
Jerry and his wife, Linda, raised three children and also have two grandchildren. Rep. Henry works as executive director of Achievement Services for Northeast Kansas, Inc. and has been with the organization for 30 years. ASNEK facilitates programs and services for developmentally disabled adults. Rep. Henry has used the experience extensively in his work as the ranking minority member of the House Social Services Budget Committee.
Rep. Henry has been active in the Atchison community for several years. In addition to serving four years on the Atchison City Commission, he spent one year as they city's mayor. Jerry is also active in St. Joseph Church, Knights of Columbus, and Atchison County Economic Development Council.
As a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, Rep. Henry has been instrumental in legislation helping seniors, the disabled, and low income Kansans. He is the Ranking Democratic Member on the House Social Services Budget Committee, and he also serves on the House Committees on Appropriations and Transportation. He is also a member of the Joint Committee on Corrections and Juvenile Justice Oversight, and serves as the Ranking Democrat on the Select Committee on Corrections Reform and Oversight.
