Lisa Benlon, District 22

Biography

Lisa was born in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of the late Crayton and Virginia Benton. She relocated to Shawnee, Kansas in 1963 and married Randy Benlon in 1972. They have two grown sons, C. Ryan and Adam, two beautiful and wonderful daughters-in-law, two precious granddaughters, and one grandson just born in September 2009.  Both Randy and Lisa attended the Shawnee Mission Public School system and their entire family are all graduates of Kansas institutions of higher education.

Early in her career, Lisa spent seventeen years managing an accounting office. She then ran for public office and spent 15 years in public service. Lisa was elected twice as a Shawnee councilmember and served twelve years as a state representative serving southern Shawnee and northern Lenexa (District 17). She spent four years lobbying Kansas legislators on behalf of the American Cancer Society. Being a breast cancer survivor, Lisa has a passion for issues that the ACS supports. I

Today, Lisa is am honored to be back in Topeka serving the constituents of the 22nd district.
