Nile Dillmore, District 92

Biography

Rep. Nile Dillmore was first elected to the Kansas House of Representatives in 2000.  He represents the 92nd House District, which includes portions of central Wichita.

A lifelong Kansan, Dillmore received both his high school and undergraduate education from Wichita public schools, first at Wichita South High School and then at Wichita State University, majoring in business administration.  Nile and his wife, Jan, have been married 18 years and have three grown children as well as six grandchildren.  Professionally, Nile works for Mid American Credit Union and has 25 years of experience in banking and financial institutions.  In the Wichita community, he has served as a member of the SRS Advisory Board of Alcohol and Drug Abuse, the Sedgwick County Community Corrections Advisory Board and the Kansas Task Force on Uninsured Motorists.

Throughout his 8 years in the Kansas Legislature, Nile has demonstrated common sense and determination, always willing to ask the tough questions in the House of Representatives.  He has been active in the fight for comprehensive health care reform.  He has also worked to crack down on illegal immigration by introducing legislation to prohibit Kansas businesses from contracting with firms that have violated illegal alien employment laws.  In 2008, Nile successfully added a provision to the 2008 budget bill that required a comprehensive audit of illegal immigration as it pertains to Kansas communities.

Nile is currently the Ranking Democrat on the House Taxation Committee.  He also serves on the House Committees for the General Government Budget and Energy and Utilities, as well as the Joint Committee on Information Technology.
