Pat Maloney, District 116
Biography
Pat Maloney was sworn into office on January 12th, 2009 to represent House District 116, which includes Kingman, Harper, Barber, Ford, Comanche and Kiowa counties. He was appointed to fill the vacancy left by Representative Dennis McKinney of Greensburg, who resigned after 17 years to become Kansas State Treasurer.
Pat is a lifelong Kansan with deep roots in the south-central area of the state. He has worked as a farmer and rancher on his family farms in Harper, Kingman and Reno counties since 1964. Within the district, Pat served as a member of the school board, hospital board, Farm Bureau board and Co-op board in Kingman County, as well as the Horizons Mental Health Board of Directors. Currently, he also serves as a member of the Kansas Agriculture Advisory Board that provides advice and assistance to the Kansas Secretary of Agriculture.
Pat resides in Kingman with his wife, Carole, who works as an English teacher at Kingman High School. They have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
Within the Kansas House of Representatives, Pat serves on the House Committee on Transportation and the House Committee on Agriculture. He achieved perfect attendance during his first session, as well as a 100% voting record and maintained that commitment to his district during the 2010 session.
