Stan Frownfelter, District 31

Biography

Rep. Stan Frownfelter serves the 31st Kansas House District.  He was first elected in 2006.

Throughout his first term in the Legislature, Stan worked tirelessly as an advocate for Kansas working families.  In 2008, Stan led House efforts to give Kansas workers a respectable raise by increasing the state's minimum wage- currently the lowest in the nation- from $2.65 to $5.85 an hour.  The last increase in the Kansas' minimum wage occurred 20 years ago, in 1988.  Stan's efforts were blocked by partisan politics.

Currently, Stan serves on the House Government Efficiency and Technology Committee.  He is also a member of the Transportation and Public Safety Budget, the Select Committee on State Employee Pay Plan and the Joint Committee on State-Tribal Relations.

The 31st House District covers portions of Southeast Wyandotte County.
