Steve Lukert, District 62

Biography

Representative Steve Lukert has served the 62nd House District since 2006.  He represents Brown and Nemaha Counties.

Steve serves on the House Committees on Taxation, Veterans, Military, and Homeland Security, and Agriculture and Natural Resources.  He is also a member of the Joint Committee on State-Tribal Relations.  Steve has been instrumental in implementing responsible tax policy and is currently the ranking Democrat on the interim Taxation committee.  He was also recognized for perfect attendance in 2006.   

Steve has been a farmer for 40 years worked as a public schoolteacher for 32 years.  He is active in the community and serves as a church trustee at Northridge Church in Sabetha.  Steve and his wife, Linda, reside in Sabetha.  They have five children and 10 grandchildren.
