Tom Hawk, District 67

Biography

Rep. Tom Hawk was first elected to the Kansas House of Representatives in 2005.  He serves the 67th House District, which covers portions of Manhattan and Fort Riley.

Tom currently serves as the ranking Democrat on the House Select Committee on State Employee Pay Plan.  He is also a member of the House Committees on Energy and Utilities, Federal and State Affairs, and Social Services Budget. 

Tom and his wife, Tammi, have been married for over 30 years and have resided in Manhattan for 40 years.  They have two sons, Skyler and Cameron.  He worked for nearly 33 years in education administration at Ogden public schools.  He began as a junior high math teacher and counselor, followed by 25 years as Curriculum Director, Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Finance, then as Superintendent.  Tom also works as a small business owner, providing photography services.  He has also been active on the Manhattan Comprehensive Land Use Task Force, as well as the Rotary Club, the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, and the Manhattan Emergency Shelter Board. 

Tom graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in math education, a Master of Science in Counseling and a Doctorate in Educational Administration.
