Our Caucus
The Kansas House Democratic Caucus consists of 49 men and women from across the state. Because Kansas is a citizen legislature, our members work full time jobs in addition to their duties as state legislators. They come from all walks of life, working as farmers, attorneys, public school teachers, college professors, and small business owners, to name a few. Each January, members put their jobs on hold to travel to Topeka for an annual, 90-day legislative session. Once the session concludes in May, members return to their districts and families for the remainder of the year.
